You know to know. You tend towards more from less. You research in order to find out more because you have known a little. Because a door has been open to you, you want to enter in in order to find out more. This is how we grow from strength to strength; power to power; victory to victory; and faith to faith.
In order to love, we have to first know. To love more requires knowing more of the object of affection by craving more of it. You see other sides you never saw and that makes you feel more affection for same. Mind you, seeing more may draw on opposite emotion, but the whole idea here is that more should help you to crave for more.
We grow in knowledge means that once we know something about a certain thing and we venture more into it, the result is that we know more and more about that thing. Our knowledge in that area of life or human endeavour only grows with time.
Growth is progressive. As we grow we tend to know more about ourselves. When we grow in a relationship, we tend to know more about the other person, the same way they know about us. Intimacy means knowing more about. As we become closer, we release more and more of ourselves. As we release more and more of ourselves, we get closer.
When this happens, we release our vulnerabilities. We hide nothing. Each level of growth means new levels or new exposures of who we are. We let down our guard. We expose who we are. That means more and more about us.
The reason betrayal is painful is that after we have released ourselves to others and shown our vulnerabilities to them. We have come to the place of trust. We trust them enough to let them stand in our stead or represent us. That means more knowledge about us. It is more knowledge enough to break us. When that happens, we permitted it because we let them in.
Knowledge is at the root of everything. Knowledge is the foundation of all endeavours in life. Without knowledge there is no attainment. Even after attainment, we are able to sustain through improvement in our systems and approaches. It means knowing more than we knew. We make knowledge progressively and get more established.
Experiential knowledge is practical knowledge earned through activities influenced by and driven towards a certain end. When we experience something, we earn exposure to such a thing, and nothing can take it away from us. In that Chinese learning proverb, it says, "I hear, and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” This is the stressing of the strength of experience.
Unless we are able to do something, we are not able to lay credence to understanding. Our credentials, in that thing is the experience we have earned doing that thing. Repetition or iteration is extremely important in order to make our credentials true.
The soundness or functionality of our education is seen in how much we have practised the processes that they are. Whether the education is formal, informal or both, it is important that we either personally put its theory to use, or we practise the theory personally so that we are able to own the knowledge. That becomes our credential.
When we have faith, it is not in a vacuum. First we have a revelation of something. Having a revelation of something means that we have an uncommon understanding of it. An uncommon understanding is a knowing which is not separated from the gut, the instinct or intuitive awareness. That is why we are able to follow our guts.
True enduring attainments are earned more by the guts more than data and statistics. Sometimes when data says A, gut lets us go towards B. And when we go that route, we earn the object of our desire or pursuit.
Again, we may not be able to use data and statistics unless we apply guts. The gut is the unseen. Now, like faith, when we say we believe in something, we actually know something about that thing that we are willing to risk every other thing in order to rest on it. We rest on it such that nothing else matters.
A true faith is both unfeigned and undefiled. By this, the knowledge that backs up such faith is not extraneous to it. It finds its strength and solace in it. For example, to have faith in God requires that we know the God we are speaking of. We walk based on certain precepts. We are led by the scriptures, and we have a revelation of what is written.
There is resonance between what is written and what is within us, our gut. This resonance is an uncommon alignment between us, and it based on experience, based on use, based on wiring, based on programming. We have seen it work and so our faith or belief is stirred when the chips are down. This is exactly what life is about.
In our endeavours, if we are focused on a specific area of life, we give our attention to it. We observe it closely and closer each time. Our focus is so fixed on it till we know no other. What that does for us is that we know that thing extremely well and better than others who are looking at many things at the same time. That can be a distraction to growth in a certain cause or area of human endeavour.
When we observe well, when we pay rapt attention, when we focus and fix our gaze constantly on something, we know that thing more and more. First, we must have been drawn to that thing at the outset. Certain knowledge or awareness is responsible for that. We cannot just suddenly begin to invest our observation or attention without first having a slight opening.
We see these things every day. We operate in these circles all through life. While some persons have only known one or two things all through their lives and have become masters of same, some others know a little bit about many things but are not able to attain mastery. The strength of mastery is the power of knowledge. Without knowledge, mastery is not attained.
When you have a vision about something, you have an insight into that thing. You have been let into knowing something. Insight is knowledge. Now, in order to manifest that vision, you have to dig deeper into specific fields of knowledge. It is not possible to make the vision come alive into tangible without seeking to know more.
When a vision is compelling, certain intangible thing is impressed upon the psyche of the visionary. They come into a certain awareness or consciousness. This consciousness excites them. This consciousness has to get stimulated or activated before it can be manifested. This is vindication. Vindication makes things bare and known. It is the exposition of certain unknown power.
Vision is knowledge. The manifestation of vision is the increase in knowledge and the application of knowledge. Without knowledge, vision is not born and without knowledge, vision is not implemented.
Whatever you have to do in life, in order to be accomplished at it, you need to have accurate knowledge of it. Having accurate knowledge of it means going through processes which earn you different levels of awareness of that same thing.
If you are to do business, you must know the nitty-gritty of the business in order to excel at it. The venture of risk taking means that knowledge is required. Warren Buffet said that we take risks because we do not know enough. My understanding of risk taking is informed risk. When we know to a degree, we can take a step towards that degree. If we are to go beyond that degree, it is based on what we already know, and the idea is to know more.
If you have to pray a prayer of efficacy, you have to do so based on the knowledge of the One that you are praying to. The words of your prayers have to be inspired and ordered based on the knowledge of the One who is to receive your prayers. You only pray based on the promises that have been made. You ask based on the promises.
Knowledge is at the core of everything that we do. If you have to do anything, you need the knowledge to do it. After you have done what you have done, you need the knowledge to maintain and continue at it and sustain it. To get established in it, you do need the inspiration to win. Inspiration is knowledge beyond the ordinary. It can be right or wrong. When you have the right inspiration, it is from the Highest Source. In order to be free, you do need to know. This is why we often hear that knowledge is power.
One problem I have identified in human existence and value space is the absence of accurate, resourceful, and realistic knowledge of life and things. I boarded a tricycle and while in traffic, a young man walked by hawking baby parrots in cages. The young man at the wheel of the tricycle asked the parrot hawker if the parrot was genuine and not fake. I was taken aback by the question. A fake parrot? How so?
He narrated how he bought one many months back and it never spoke a word. He maintained his position about the parrot being fake and I appealed to him to let me say something to him. Then he listened to me.
So I told him: You can sow the same field with the same seeds or plants of the same age, and they will neither mature nor reproduce at the same time. I continued that people of the same age do not become fruitful at the same time. Then he accepted my thoughts.
While I was speaking with him, a question hit me thus: Do all parrots talk? This question led me to researching and I found out that not all parrots talk because every parrot is an individual. Now, a certain knowledge led me to a certain further knowledge and through research I discovered.
Almost daily, I encounter similar experiences with different people, and I see how bereft of resourceful knowledge people are and it is more a problem of lack of the knowledge of the Truth. Take it or leave it, they are bound and not free. This is hard but it is the Truth.
Knowledge is a progressive entity. As we know, we have to keep knowing. It is a journey of limitless proportions. Your everything depends on it. Your everything depends on the quality of knowledge at your disposal. You cannot become until you know the right and know enough. Knowing enough is progressively updating what you know. You cannot achieve more than you know.
