Between ideation [creativity] and innovation, there is a huge gap of execution that is comprised of documentation, research, reviews, feasibility, requirements needed, resource gathering, different levels of implementation, testing, failings, and eventual product].
And even then first product is subject to continuous improvement and updates. The product or service [innovation] keeps disrupting itself.
The process includes marketing, sales and use by the customer, whose feedback is more than important because it is for the customer that the innovation was birthed in the first place.
The process of execution is an enervating one. That's the reason only few go that way and that is why the percentage in number of truly innovative minds is infinitesimal compared to the whole.
The life of an innovator is the life of an inventor. It's the way of true entrepreneurship; not just the same as the business person. It's more.
The journey from creativity to innovation is a journey through the bumpy road. And you cannot really tell when or where it will end; if it ever will.
